Personal Statement
I feel that it is time in my 35-year career in Early Childhood Education to give back and become a voice for others. Having the unique opportunity to work within the childcare industry and the Montessori
community, I believe I have learned value skills and takeaways from the different perspectives that I have gained by my experience using both modalities. I strive to elevate the ECE profession by being an
example and coaching others.
This is a critical time in the workforce development within the early childhood education industry and I have high hopes that through advocacy work the professional track of development would entice individuals to consider serving children, families, and community by stepping into our field of work. I also look forward to providing support and encouragement to seasoned educators to lean into mentoring, coaching, and sharing with others their passion and drive to serve children and families. By serving on the FLAEYC Board I hope to make a positive impact on the work we all have committed to in order to provide quality early childhood education experiences to all children throughout all of Florida.
