Personal Statement

As an educator who deeply believes in the transformative power of early education, I am thrilled to express my interest in serving on the board of FLAEYC.

With a wealth of experience as an early education educator, coach, leader, and consultant, I firmly believe that Early Education is the most critical stage in a child’s life and education. Over the years, I have guided and supported numerous children in their learning and growth, fostering their interactions with other children, adults, and the world around them.

I am privileged to work for a national childcare company that champions high-quality care daily. In my role, I support all 638 centers as they navigate the NAEYC process and strive for continuous quality improvement.

As an educator, leader, and consultant, I have remained active in NAEYC, QRIS, and CLASS assessments; I have been certified as an observer, although it has since lapsed my certification. Understanding the CLASS lens to Focus, Measure, and Improve supports my current work with coaching and consulting at our center level.  My past role as an Executive Director of an early learning program in Florida, the Voluntary PreK program and the early learning standards for the state of Florida have undoubtedly enriched my perspective and approach to early childhood education.

As a quality and education manager, my role is pivotal in ensuring that educational programs maintain high standards.  Supporting with new projects, an understanding of our budgets, and the pros and cons as we continue to create tools and resources that align with high-quality education.

The prospect of NAEYC’s transition to a more sustainable process is truly exciting. This shift will enable us to extend high-quality care to more programs and reach more children and families. I am eager to be part of this process and contribute to the field as a support and consultant.

This is a perfect opportunity for me to participate in and fulfill my lifelong passion for doing what is best for our children every day.

Serving on the FLAEYC board would be an honor.  I am committed to advocating for quality early education in Florida, ensuring every child receives the best possible start in life.

Thank you for considering my application; I look forward to contributing my expertise and passion to Florida's early learners and educators.
