Personal Statement
With my experience as a teacher, director, author, and educator, I feel I can enhance and contribute ideas and best practices so that all educators have a solid base to follow the mission and institute FLAEYC's goals.
I have been an educator for over 50 years and still mentor and assist staff and other leaders on early childhood's best practices and curriculum. I firmly believe in open communication with colleagues and parents, increasing success at every level. My ability to be an effective leader and mentor can bring many new ideas to the Board and enhance the existing goals.
I have been in education for many years, developing innovative programs, curriculum, and mentoring. One of my projects as an Ed.D candidate was the Importance of Play in Early Childhood and Increasing Understanding of Diversity in Young Children. Throughout my leadership, I have been open to other ideas and encourage staff to be effective and to think outside the box to make sure every student is having his/her individual needs met to his/her highest potential.
