Personal Statement
I'm thrilled to express my interest in continuing my role as a FLAEYC board member. Serving on the board has been incredibly rewarding, and I'm eager to keep contributing to our mission of advancing high-quality early childhood education in Florida.
My passion for early childhood education runs deep. As the owner and director (Tallahassee location) of Our Blessings Early Learning Center, with three locations serving diverse communities, I've seen firsthand the transformative power of quality early learning. This experience has only strengthened my commitment to ensuring every child in Florida has access to the best early education possible.
In addition to running the centers, I also teach Child Growth and Development at North Florida College as an adjunct instructor. This course is part of the FCCPC certification, and it allows me to stay closely connected to the latest developments in early childhood education while helping to train the next generation of educators.
One of my key strengths is my extensive experience in early childhood education administration. Leading Our Blessings Early Learning Center has given me a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities in early learning programs. Within our centers, I've developed and implemented policies to enhance education quality, support professional development for educators, and build strong family and community partnerships. These skills are directly aligned with FLAEYC's goals, and I believe they will enable me to contribute effectively to the board's work.
I'm also deeply committed to advocacy and community engagement. I believe in the power of collaboration and have built strong relationships with educators, parents, and community organizations. My ability to connect with diverse groups and advocate for the needs of children and families is a key strength that I will continue to bring to the board.
Equity and inclusion are also central to my work. I strive to create inclusive learning environments that celebrate diversity and ensure all children have the opportunity to thrive. This commitment to equity aligns perfectly with FLAEYC's mission and will guide my contributions to the board.
