NAEYC is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8. By connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research, NAEYC advances diverse, dynamic early childhood careers; and we support those professionals who care for, educate, and labor on behalf of young children.
The national association is comprised of nearly 60,000 individual members of the early childhood community, joined by more than 50 affiliates. The association is dedicated to ensuring that every child receives a high-quality early learning experience. Together, we work towards a collective vision: that all young children thrive in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full educational potential.
The core values and beliefs of the NAEYC are rooted in a commitment to the profession. We believe in excellence and innovation, transparency, reflection, diversity and inclusion, equity, opportunity, and collaboration.
We appreciate childhood for the unique stage of life it is, and recognize that children are supported best when in the context of family, culture, community, and society. We acknowledge and celebrate the dignity of each child, and understand that all individuals thrive in an environment of trust and respect.
